These 8 NFL veterans could be cap casualties

With the 2019 NFL Draft now in the books, along with the majority of free agency over and done with, several veterans could find themselves out of a job

8. Keelan Cole, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars

The third-year wideout managed only 38 catches for 491 yards last season in Jacksonville, and the team seems ready to move on. The offseason addition of Chris Conley limits his utility on the roster, as both are likely to work best out of the slot and/or as a third receiver. Cole saw his production drop significantly over the 2018 season and the team seems more likely to let D.J. Chark or C.J. Board be the fourth wideout. Cole has limited value as a special teamer, so it is difficult to see a spot for him on the final roster.

7. Tajae Sharpe, Wide Receiver, Tennessee Titans

In his second year as a pro, Sharpe only had 26 total catches despite playing in all 16 games for the Titans. In addition, he team currently has 10 wide outs on their roster after drafting A.J. Brown in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and signing Adam Humphries in the offseason. Like Cole before him, Sharpe has basically no use on special teams, so he’s not going to make the roster in the capacity. The Titans have been committed to provide more help to its quarterback, Marcus Mariota, and in doing so, they’ll be making decisions about who to keep and who to let go. Expect to see Sharpe on the market before the summer ends.
