New England Patriots remain Super Bowl favorites after Week 2, with the Kansas City Chiefs close behind.
After two weeks of NFL action, there has been a bit of a shake-up in who is favored to win Super Bowl LIV.
At the top of table, of course, the New England Patriots. They were favored going into the season, and with two wins in two weeks, the addition of Antonio Brown, and 76 points scored compared to just three points allowed, they are still looking like the strongest team in the league. Close behind them are the Kansas City Chiefs, who also put up some impressive numbers in their first two games of the season.
Last year, these two teams met in the AFC Championship and an overtime drive led by Tom Brady gave the New England Patriots the victory. They went on to win Super Bowl LIII.
Some dramatic injuries in Week 2 caused a shake-up in the Super Bowl odds table. With Drew Brees likely out for around six weeks, the Saints dropped from +1200 to +1600. Teddy Bridgewater came into the Saints Week 2 match against the L.A. Rams, completing 17-of-30 passes for 165 yards. Brees should return later in the season, which helped keep their Super Bowl odds from taking too much of a nosedive.
The other big injury of the week was Ben Roethlisberger, who will be out for the remainder of the season with an elbow injury that will require surgery. Because he will not be returning in 2019, the Steelers odds dropped from +2600 to +4000.
So, going into Week 3, the top Super Bowl contenders are: New England Patriots (+333), Kansas City Chiefs (+700), L.A. Rams (+1000), Dallas Cowboys (+1200), Green Bay Packers (+1400), Chicago Bears (+1600), Philadelphia Eagles (+1600), New Orleans Saints (+1600), Baltimore Ravens (+2000), and the Los Angeles Chargers (+2000).
