NFL Week 5 injury updates: Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill out

The NFL Week 5 injury reports are rolling in, and a handful of stars will be on the sidelines this week including of Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill.

It’s October, and the injuries are piling up around the NFL.

This weekend, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys are playing what most believe is the league’s best game. Unfortunately, Green Bay receiver Davante Adams (toe) and Dallas left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) will both be out.

The Sunday night game is also dealing with a host of injuries. Fir starters, the Kansas City Chiefs won’t have receiver Tyreek Hill (clavicle joint) and left tackle Eric Fisher (hernia). Fellow receiver Sammy Watkins (shoulder/hamstring) also bears watching, as he’s listed with a questionable tag after being limited in practice on Friday afternoon.

As for the Chiefs’ opponent, the Indianapolis Colts aren’t dressing linebacker Darius Leonard (concussion) safeties Malik Hooker (knee) and Clayton Geathers (concussion), or receivers Devin Funchess (clavicle) and Parris Campbell (abdominal). Running back Marlon Mack (ankle) is also a game-time decision.

Other injuries around the league include New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle),  who seems to be making progress but not in time for the Minnesota Vikings. Staying in New York, Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (mono) remains sidelined, with his team hoping to winter the first time this season.

Finally, the Buffalo Bills are unsure whether quarterback Josh Allen (concussion) can play on Sunday at Tennessee. Allen sustained a second-half concussion on a hit from New England Patriots defensive back Jonathan Jones, and hasn’t cleared protocol yet.
