NFL lines, Week 9 2019: 5 best bets

As we hit the official halfway point of the NFL season, there are some interesting wagers to make as savvy bettors look to take advantage of the spreads in Week 9.

Week 9 is here, and it marks the official halfway point of the NFL season. After this week, every team in the league will have played at least eight games, so you have plenty of data to make judgments about the quality of teams.

The betting lines reflect this, as the numbers get more difficult each week to pick against. Luckily for you, wise bettor, FanSided is here to help with its five best bets of the week for Week 9.

Let’s get things started with an over/under that may be too low given the recent trends of these two teams.

5. Titans/Panthers over 41

The over/under game is always fun to play, and this one sticks out like a sore thumb. Forty-one points is low for an NFL game, and Tennessee and Carolina are poised to easily beat this combined scoring output.

The Titans have looked much more efficient offensively with Ryan Tannehill under center, scoring consecutive victories and putting up a combined 50 points over the previous two games. Carolina delivered a dud on Sunday, but they do feature a legitimate MVP candidate in Christian McCaffrey and could be getting former MVP Cam Newton back under center in this one.

With all of those factors in mind, 41 points seems way too low for teams with questionable defenses and plenty of offensive playmakers. Bet the over and you should walk away happy on Sunday.
