Thanks to some interesting numbers, a trio of underdogs rate among the best bets in the NFL in Week 11.
Week 10 in the NFL was wild and wacky. Down was up and up was down as we saw three one-win teams pick up victories while there were other crazy results to be had (see the 1-7 Falcons walking into the Superdome and handing the Saints a 26-9 loss).
Building off that theme, the oddsmakers set some interesting lines for Week 11, which makes it a good time to throw down some cash on underdogs. Before we get to them, however, let’s start with a potential shootout at Azteca Stadium.
5. Chiefs/Chargers Over 52.5
The scoreboard should be spinning in Mexico City as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a pivotal AFC West matchup. The Chiefs’ struggles have opened the door for the rest of the division, including the 4-6 Chargers.
Patrick Mahomes threw for 446 yards and three touchdowns in his return from injury, but it was undone when the Chiefs’ defense couldn’t stop Ryan Tannehill down the stretch. The Chargers are coming off a sluggish loss to Oakland where Philip Rivers played some of the worst football of his career, so the odds of a bounce-back effort are high.
Add those factors together, and the points should be piling up at a prodigious pace in this one, so the over is a shrewd bet.
