Fantasy Football, Seattle Seahawks

If Tyler Lockett is active, play him vs. Eagles

It might be an early kickoff for the Seattle Seahawks, but if wide receiver Tyler Lockett is active vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, you start him in fantasy.

After being on their annual bye last week, the Seattle Seahawks look to be well-rested as they will have to travel across the country to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. Seattle last played against the division rival San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football two weeks ago. The game went to overtime, but it was Seattle who handed San Francisco its first loss of the season.

One player who succumbed to injury in that ball game was Seattle wide receiver, Tyler Lockett. Lockett had to spend two nights in a hospital with a leg contusion he suffered in that primetime affair. Though he has worked his way back from the injury during the bye week and during this week at practice, he is still listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles.

Should you play Lockett if he is active in your fantasy football league on Sunday? The Fantasy Footballers certainly think so. You have to remember two things about this matchup for Lockett and the Seahawks. The first is that he’s quarterback Russell Wilson’s favorite receiving target. The other is the Eagles defensive backfield continues to be one of the worst in football.

So with Wilson playing the best football of his career and Lockett being his favorite receiving target on this 2019 Seahawks team, odds are that the Seattle quarterback will be throwing the ball a ton in Lockett’s direction if he is able to play on Sunday, of course. If he’s good to go, then he’s good to go for your fantasy team.

Seattle is in a tight division battle with the 49ers. Though the Seahawks have the head-to-head tiebreaker at this time, they are still a game back of the 49ers in the division. That being said, these two bitter rivals have one more annual meeting left on the slate. These two teams feel like they will make up a third of the NFC playoff roster spots. But what about Philadelphia?

As with the Seahawks, the Eagles are in a tight division race themselves, as they trail the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East race. Philadelphia has to win this game if the Eagles want to really stay alive in the NFC playoff race. As for the Seahawks, they can afford a road loss here, but could totally get a win in Philadelphia. The Wilson-to-Lockett connection will have a lot to do with that.
