Updated 2020 NFL Draft order: Bengals still in the lead

The 2020 NFL Draft order is beginning to take shape, and the Cincinnati Bengals remain the team to “beat” with their 0-11 record.

It came down to the wire, but the Pittsburgh Steelers finally benched the incompetent Mason Rudolph to pull off a 16-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Zac Taylor’s latest defeat bumped Cincinnati to an 0-11 record, solidifying their status as the worst team in the NFL coming out of Week 13.

The Bengals desperately need a new franchise quarterback, and the No. 1 overall pick will get them one, regardless of what the future holds for Tua Tagovailoa. It will take a miracle for this team to get a win, so, barring an unforeseen run of wins, Cincy has the top pick locked up.

Here is how the rest of the 2020 NFL Draft order projects with only a handful of games left in the 2019 season.

Updated 2020 NFL Draft order

  1. Cincinnati Bengals
  2. Miami Dolphins
  3. Washington Redskins
  4. New York Giants
  5. Denver Broncos
  6. Atlanta Falcons
  7. Detroit Lions
  8. Arizona Cardinals
  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  10. New York Jets
  11. Los Angeles Chargers
  12. Jacksonville Jaguars
  13. Chicago Bears
  14. Carolina Panthers
  15. Cleveland Browns
  16. Philadelphia Eagles
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers
  18. Oakland Raiders
  19. Tennessee Titans
  20. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams and Titans are in the playoff hunt, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Titans took a playoff spot with the way Ryan Tannehill is playing. But for now, they are still behind the Colts in the postseason race.

Out of all the teams with a projected top 10 pick next year, the 3-7-1 Cardinals are in the best spot. They already have a franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray, who has looked exactly like a No. 1 overall pick, even succeeding against a San Francisco 49ers defense that has embarrassed quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers this season. Arizona needs a lot more pieces before they can compete in the brutal NFC West, but they are on their way.

The Dolphins tank has went as expected, but they couldn’t quite account for the Bengals being even better at tanking than them. Miami, Washington, Cincinnati, and both New York teams have been a special kind of awful this season.
