Terrelle Pryor will recover from stabbing, arrested for simple assault

Terrelle Pryor arrived at a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition after being stabbed Saturday morning, but will make a full recovery and a woman has been arrested in the incident.

According to Terrelle Pryor’s agent (via ESPN), the free agent wide receiver will make a full recovery after being the victim of a stabbing early Saturday morning.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pryor was stabbed in the chest and the shoulder in his apartment in Pittsburgh. He underwent surgery and will make a full recovery after being in critical condition upon his arrival at the hospital around 4:30 a.m.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Pryor was arrested and is being charged with simple assault. Police also arrested Shalaya Briston, who is being charged with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault. The 24-year-old Briston was also injured during the North Side incident, but her injuries were not disclosed by authorities.

The 30-year-old Pryor has been a free agent since the Jacksonville Jaguars cut him in September. He’s been in the league since 2011, playing for the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Jaguars in that time. His longest tenure with one team was with the team that drafted him, Oakland, for a total of three seasons and 14 games overall.

Pryor, a former quarterback, has seven career receiving touchdowns, four career rushing touchdowns and nine touchdown passes thrown over his seven seasons in the NFL.
