Baltimore Ravens, NFL Mock Draft

2020 NFL Draft: Baltimore Ravens 7-round mock

The Baltimore Ravens have nine picks in the 2020 NFL Draft to help get better and contend for a Super Bowl again next year. Here is their latest mock draft.

The Baltimore Ravens had a fantastic regular season in 2019. They finished with the best record in football, earning home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs during Lamar Jackson‘s breakout NFL MVP season. However, for the second January in a row, the Ravens were unable to win a playoff game at home against a Wild Card team. This team is good but needs to tighten a few things up.

Fortunately for Baltimore, the Ravens have nine picks in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft to get better. They have several needs to address this spring. Whether they are addressed in free agency or in the draft, it doesn’t matter, as long as they are addressed. Should the Ravens dominate the draft as they do in most years, this team has what it takes to get back to the Super Bowl.

Primary needs for the Ravens this offseason are out on the edge, at guard and at wide receiver. Secondary needs include a linebacker, help along the defensive line and at cornerback. Tertiary needs for Baltimore are at running back, safety, center and tight end. Baltimore won’t be able to address all 10 needs in the draft but are in a great position to improve at most spots.

With the Super Bowl window being open, it is imperative that general manager Eric DeCosta channels his inner Ozzie Newsome and crushes this draft. But with only three top-100 picks, it is more likely that Baltimore will have to do most of its heavy lifting on day three of the draft. Here is the latest NFL mock draft for the Ravens.

First Round

28

Marlon Davidson

EDGE Auburn Tigers

The Auburn Tigers had one of the best defensive lines in college football last season. Frankly, it usually is one of the best in the SEC, due to Kevin Steele being a phenomenal defensive coordinator. However, the amount of talent hitting the draft from that Auburn position group is next level. Much has been made about Derrick Brown, but what about Marlon Davidson?

Davidson projects as a late first-round pick, right in the Ravens’ wheelhouse picking at No. 28. Since edge rusher is their greatest need heading into the draft process, this pick is a no-brainer for Baltimore to make. Sure, Davidson starred at Newsome’s collegiate archrival in Auburn, but don’t think for a second DeCosta will not be in on Davidson’s undeniable talent.

Davidson is 6-foot-3 and 278 pounds, having the necessary size to play at any technique for a defensive end in any system. He was a First-Team All-SEC performer in 2019, as he had 48 total tackles (29 solo, 19 assists), 11.5 for a loss of yardage and 6.5 sacks. Despite playing on a defensive line with Brown and Nick Coe, Davidson more than made an impact for Auburn in 2019.

We know while at Auburn Davidson received great coaching from Steele. He has been developed and can be accentuated playing for Don “Wink” Martindale. The best part of this selection is that Davidson won’t be expected to make an immediate impact in 2020. But if he hits like Baltimore’s 2018 first-round pick, then the Ravens got themselves another gem on a Thursday.
