NFL Free Agency, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady signing with Buccaneers has Twitter going nuts

Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are aiming for a Super Bowl in the next couple of years by signing Tom Brady, and Twitter is running wild.

The unimaginable has happened, turning the NFL world on its head. Tom Brady chose to sign a deal worth approximately $30 million per year to play quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, trading Bill Belichick for the laid-back Sunshine State and quarterback-friendly coach Bruce Arians.

Brady’s departure from New England didn’t come as a surprise to the Patriots, but his move to the Buccaneers will send shockwaves around the NFC, especially in the transitioning NFC South.

Twitter couldn’t believe what happened either. Brady to the Bucs of all teams? Insanity. And the reactions reflected the shocking nature of one of the biggest free agency bombshells in the history of sports.

Patriots fans will love this one.

Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady? Now we have Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees to look forward to as one of the defining quarterback rivalries for the next couple of years.

The Edmonton Eskimos had a chance, right?

So…he’s an upgrade?

Let’s maybe stay away from the puns…

Manchester United fans preferred the Glazers spending the wage budget on Jadon Sancho.

DeMarcus Lawrence has already sacked Tom Brady once in his career, and he’s looking forward to adding a few more sacks of the former Patriots – sorry, Buccaneers Legend to his resume.

Another way of looking at it is to bask in the merchandise and ticket sales, which will help the Buccaneers. Or maybe they’ll only help Manchester United in the end. Who knows?

Patriots fans fighting amongst each other might be the best part of this move.

Well, except for the schadenfreude of watching sad Patriots fans, especially if Brady is still good.

The Buccaneers are clearly Super Bowl or bust with Brady at the helm, and if anyone can get the most out of a 42-year-old quarterback with a lot of heart but not a lot of arm, then it’s Arians.
