In an offseason full of uniform and logo changes, the Los Angeles Chargers teased us with a return to their iconic powder blues. We are so excited for this!
The Los Angeles Chargers are bringing back the powder blues, baby!
Or that’s what we’re led to believe. On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers released a short video on Twitter of how awesome their powder blue jerseys from yesteryear were and how they might be returning full-time in 2020. The Chargers will be making their move into brand-new SoFi Stadium this season, along with their NFC landlords in the Los Angeles Rams.
For years, the powder blue jerseys have been among the greatest uniforms in the NFL. They’re just freaking perfect! When you see the Bolts in their powder blues, you ask yourself how quickly you can suit up for the Chargers. You then realize playing in NFL is not cut out for you, so you buy every Lance Alworth, Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow throwback you can find until you run out of money.
Everything about the return to powder blues feels right. The Chargers should be allowed to wear powder blues every single game, no matter if they are home or away. Like the Dallas Cowboys in their home white uniforms, it’s almost sacrilegious to see the Bolts wear anything else. There will never be a jersey reveal more anticipated than this.
Even though the Chargers have struggled to find any semblance of a fan base in their new Southern California hometown, the Spanos Family will have no problem making money off their merchandise. The Chargers have had so many great players over the years, you can buy at least a dozen of them for only a small fortune. That’s one way to offset not having any PSLs whatsoever.
When these new powder uniforms do drop, we’ll be ready. The question is, will you? The Chargers are crushing it right now, owning their landlords in every facet of social media marketing.
