Tuesday Night Fortnite brings NFL players and Twitch streamers together for weekly fun

Tuesday Night Fortnite will feature NFL players and Fortnite streamers competing with each other on a weekly basis for charity. Here’s how you can tune in.

The NFLPA and ACE Media are teaming up with Twitch, Epic Games, Fanatics and Find Your Battlefield to bring us Tuesday Night Fortnite. The series will feature your favorite football players and your favorite Twitch streamers competing in Fortnite matches.

Each week will feature two NFL players from the following week’s Thursday Night Football game. The series launches tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET and will feature Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi and New York Giants tight end Evan Engram. The series will be streamed on Find Your Battlefield’s Twitch channel: Twitch.tv/FYBtv.

Tuesday Night Fortnite will include a custom point system and in-game challenges voted on by the audience. The parties involved will be making donations to various charities as the season goes on.

Here are the details for the weekly event (via ACE Media):

For the first time, NFL stars will team up with popular streamers tonight, Tuesday, October 2, to play against one another in the debut of Tuesday Night featuring Fortnite, an exciting new weekly event series broadcast live on Twitch.tv/FYBtv at 8pm EDT/5pm PDT. Jay Ajayi (Philadelphia Eagles) and Evan Engram (N.Y. Giants) will participate in the launch tonight.

The series will continue throughout the NFL season, each week’s athletes coming from the following week’s Thursday Night Football game (also streaming on Twitch this year). Every Tuesday night, they will join some of the most popular streamers and compete against one another to represent their teams in friendly matches. The series will be broadcast live from studio but with athletes and streamers playing remotely from their respective homes.

Twitch, Epic Games, Fanatics, creative agency Find Your Battlefield and the NFL Players Association’s production arm ACE Media have all partnered to create the first of its kind reoccurring gamer/athlete broadcast series – right alongside the NFL season. Highlights will live on all of Fanatics’ social platforms throughout the season.

A point system and series of audience voted in-game challenges will be used to determine winners each week. Tuesday Night Fortnite, along with our partnering athletes and streamers, will be making donations to various charities throughout the season.

Having the Tuesday Night Fortnite run alongside the NFL schedule is a great move by those involved. It will be fun to see these athletes compete in the game a week before they compete on the field.

It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for a great idea like this to surface. There have been several one-off tournaments and charity fundraisers featuring celebrities and athletes but with the popularity of Fortnite growing and it’s prevalence among athletes, there’s no doubt Tuesday Night Fortnite will be a huge success.

Be sure to tune in every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET on Twitch.tv/FYBtv to catch all the action and vote on the in-game challenges.
