5 reasons Packers can win the Super Bowl this year

The Packers only have a few chances left to ride Aaron Rodgers to a Super Bowl title. Here are five reasons why Green Bay can get it done in 2019.

Aaron Rodgers is no stranger to Super Bowl success, but it’s been a while since he’s gotten his hands on the Lombardi Trophy. Officials in Green Bay hope the changes they’d made this offseason will make 2019 the season where Rodgers’ title drought ends.

The most obvious change in Green Bay is at the head coach position. Mike McCarthy enjoyed a lot of success in his tenure with the Packers, but his time had clearly run its course. The Packers front office hopes Matt LaFleur will emerge as the right answer on the sidelines. Specifically, he’ll be expected to revamp the team’s offensive playbook.

There are significant changes on defense too. The organization spent a lot of money to bring in big time free agents to bolster this unit. Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith will both be counted on to give the team’s linebacking corps a much-needed jolt in production. The new safety combination of rookie Darnell Savage and Adrian Amos should be able to stabilize the back end of Green Bay’s defense.

All of the offseason changes equal big time optimism in Green Bay. Read on to discover five reasons why the Packers may win another Super Bowl by the time this season’s playoffs are over.

5. The talent at tackle

Neither Bryan Bulaga or David Bakhtiari are new arrivals in Green Bay, but there’s a reason they’ve stayed around so long. Each guy does a terrific job of giving Aaron Rodgers time to make deep throws down the field.

There’s no reason to think either player’s performance is going to drop off in 2019. Bakhtiari, in particular, is still among the best players in the NFL at his position. The Packers wouldn’t trade him for any left tackle in the game. There are some question marks about Green Bay’s talent on the inside of the offensive line, but starting off the group with two top-flight players on the edge could power the Packers to great heights.
