NFL lines, Week 2 2019: 5 best bets

After a wild Week 1, FanSided has your five best bets to make ahead of a very difficult slate of games to call in Week 2.

While Week 1 is traditionally a hard week to bet since we have no information to make judgments off of, there is a case to be made that Week 2 is actually harder. After just a week of play, many experts tend to overreact to the games we have seen, and it creates some wacky betting lines for Week 2.

No need to fear, however, as FanSided has done the hard work for you and combed through all the lines to find the five best bets of the week. Let’s dive right in with a huge spread that you have to lay considering how the two teams involved looked in Week 1.

5. Patriots -18.5

This is an absolutely bonkers number for Week 2 of the NFL season, and it is reminiscent of a college football line. That is how big of a mismatch the dynastic Patriots are for the clearly tanking Dolphins, who were blown out 59-10 in their home opener by the Baltimore Ravens.

This line is clearly begging bettors to take the Dolphins, and there are certainly logical arguments to make for that case. It is hard for any team to win by three touchdowns in the pros, especially on the road, where it will be hot and humid in Miami on Sunday.

New England has also struggled historically in South Beach, but they looked absolutely dominant in a 33-3 rout of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, and they may be getting some guy named Antonio Brown in the mix in Week 2. This number may be tough to stomach, but these ain’t your father’s Dolphins, so lay the 18.5 and expect another rout as Miami tanks for Tua.
