New York Giants 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds

The New York Giants have a new head coach but live in their general manager’s worst nightmare…an NFL Draft run entirely by computer guys.

The New York Giants made one of the most surprising picks of the 2019 NFL Draft, selecting Daniel Jones at No. 6 when many weren’t sure he would go in the top 20.

Now that Jones has become the team’s clear starter moving forward, general manager Dave Gettleman must focus on protecting their franchise signal-caller. With a new head coach in former Patriots staffer Joe Judge, the new regime hopes to turn their extensive draft capital into competing for an NFC East title next season.

Will Gettleman hog all the mollies of the 2020 class? It’s time to find out with this Giants seven-round mock draft.

1st round

Jedrick Wills

OT, Crimson Tide

The hog mollies are dancing in the breeze as Dave Gettleman selects former Alabama tackle Jedrick Wills with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 draft.

In the end, this pick likely comes down to three players: Isaiah Simmons, Tristan Wirfs and Wills. While Simmons seems to be the favorite at the moment, I just can’t see Gettleman not taking an offensive lineman here, and I believe Wills is their guy.

Gettleman has hammered the importance of keeping the quarterback upright this offseason and some of the Giants’ free-agent spending seems to indicate defense won’t be the focus with this first pick.

Wills is possibly the best all-around tackle in this class, and the Giants’ new staff, loaded with Alabama connections, tap him to protect Daniel Jones in round one.
