The New York Jets have a great general manager in Joe Douglas, and he is shining in his first NFL Draft for them in 2020.

It seems that New York Jets fans are extremely satisfied with their teams’ 2020 NFL Draft, and they really should be. With Joe Douglas leading the way, the team actually appears competent and possibly ready to win the AFC East in 2020.

Sam Darnold is the Jets quarterback of the future, and they did their best to surround him with players to help. The first two selections for New York in the draft were used to select offensive pieces, both steals.

The Jets nabbed the offensive tackle that may come to be the best of the draft class when all is said and done. Yes, he may be even better than Andrew Thomas and Jedrick Wills that were taken before. Louisville’s Mekhi Becton is a huge product and is going to be protecting Sam Darnold for a long time.

Becton was likely very high on the Jets draft board, and they were able to get him at #11 instead of trading up at all. The 6-foot-7, 364-pound monster will also excel in paving the way for running back Le’Veon Bell. Becton played 21 games at left tackle and 12 at right tackle in college, and will fit in nicely on either side for Adam Gase.

Getting a player of this caliber just outside of the top-10 is phenomenal, and the Jets did the right thing in grabbing him quickly.
