Fantasy Football Sleepers 2020: Giants QB Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones is primed to become a top 10 fantasy football quarterback this season.

Fantasy football sleepers are what can win someone a championship year in and year out. The position tends to not matter, either. If you look back to last season, 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson was only considered a sleeper and ended up being the best player in fantasy not named Christian McCaffrey. Mark Andrews and Miles Sanders were two other names considered fantasy football sleepers in 2019, and they ended up delivering for their teams when needed. As we approach the 2020 NFL season, Daniel Jones should be at the top of the list when it comes to quarterback sleepers.

Jones had flashes of game-changing ability, including his first start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. He finished that game with 34.24 points, showing he could be a problem through the air and with his legs.

On FantasyPros, Jones is currently ranked as the No. 14 quarterback in the rankings. In normal leagues that hold 10 or 12 teams, that would put him as a backup. That makes it likely that if you are one to wait on your quarterback, drafting him with one of your last selections while drafting the rest of your team could prove to be an advantage.

Of course, many fantasy owners are gushing over Kyler Murray this season and rightfully so considering the offense he is in, but Jones should have almost just as much hype around him. That won’t happen, making him the perfect sleeper to draft in your drafts.

When you look at the weapons that Jones will have at his disposal, it is far better than it looked for the New York Giants going into last season. While Saquon Barkley will certainly be the main option in the offense, the receiving corps of the Giants is one of the most underrated in football. Evan Engram was Jones’ favorite receiver while healthy and he should be this season. Add in the wide receiving core of Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton and you have plenty to have Jones be a breakout. Slayton could emerge as a sleeper in his own right.

Jones showed flashes of being a franchise quarterback last season as well as a QB1 for any fantasy team. Make sure to circle him on your cheat sheet ahead of your draft. If you miss on the likes of Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson and want to simply stack your team with other players, Daniel Jones can be your fantasy answer and potentially help you win a championship this season.
