Le’Veon Bell’s first tweet to Chiefs Kingdom will pump up fans

Le’Veon Bell’s first tweet as a member of the Chiefs will have fans fired up.

The Kansas City Chiefs were already a walking cheat code on offense before Thursday night. Then Twitter went down, only to return with the news that Le’Veon Bell had signed with the team.

It became clear he wanted to sign with a winner and he did just that. Being free of Adam Gase and the New York Jets was the first step and now the bonus is landing in such a dominant offense. Bell was ready to go with a fresh picture and sent a tweet to Chiefs fans Thursday night.

Chiefs fans should be fired up about Bell

Twitter’s impact in the sports news cycle was made clear Thursday night when it was down. One can only imagine Adam Schefter desperately trying to send out the news. But it returned and in the span of an hour fans in Kansas City heard the news and then saw the first look of Bell in a Chiefs jersey.

The Chiefs were likely Bell’s top target the moment he was cut by the Jets. If there was ever a place to go compete for a Super Bowl, Kansas City is at the top of any list.

Of course, Bell has not played at an elite level since the 2017 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But he did sit out in 2018 then came a pairing with Gase in which neither of the two liked each other much.

Bell is excited to be in Kansas City and fans should be excited to have him. He essentially shows up as an added bonus to complement the rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire. This move also doesn’t signify the team has lost faith in the rookie.
