Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots

Twitter destroys Cam Newton and Patriots for sad loss to the Bills

Cam Newton and the Pats had a chance to beat the Bills…until they didn’t

The Patriots were driving late on the road against Buffalo, giving Cam Newton a chance to mark his signature moment as a member of Bill Belichick’s group. Instead, disaster struck, and Newton fumbled inside the Bills’ 30-yard line.

Newton was on his way down, but the Bills were able to punch the ball free at the last possible minute. Patriots fans reacted in predictable fashion, having not lost to Buffalo on a late-game error in quite some time. It’s an unfamiliar fate for Patriots fans, but arguably one they should’ve seen coming given their decades-long streak of success in these types of scenarios.

Newton is not Tom Brady, and Patriots fans are finding that out quickly

For once, the Patriots found out the hard way what’s it’s like to have the wrath of NFL Twitter against them.

Yikes. It’s unfair to entirely blame Newton for the Patriots’ struggles, as the weapons he has around him aren’t fit for a player of his caliber. Josh McDaniels deserves some credit for the Patriots’ early offensive fools’ gold, but opposing defenses caught up fast after New England’s loss to Seattle.

Even with a chance to make a statement, Newton came up jus a bit short. With every loss will come more social media resentment, we assure you.
