LeBron James reaches out to Joe Burrow after terrible injury

After Joe Burrow’s devastating injury, LeBron James reached out to the Bengals quarterback on Twitter.

Cincinnati Bengals fans, LSU fans and football fans in general were all devastated to watch Joe Burrow, the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, suffer a horrific knee injury against the Washington Football Team on Sunday.

On Monday, everyone’s worst fears were somehow heightened, as it was reported that Burrow had suffered an ACL tear, MCL tear and structural damage to his knee.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who just so happens to be a big NFL fan himself, reached out to the rookie quarterback on Twitter, wishing him a speedy recovery.

LeBron James took the time to wish Joe Burrow a healthy recovery

James drew on his Ohio connections, as the former Cleveland Cavaliers star shouted out Burrow, who redshirted at Ohio State behind T.J. Barrett for two years before transferring to LSU. He rose to prominence with the Tigers, winning the Heisman Trophy and a national championship in his second year there.

Of course, LeBron probably would’ve reached out regardless of the not-so-obvious Buckeyes connection. He’s a regular viewer and fan of the NFL, and Burrow was the best and most exciting offensive rookie in the league this year. He’s been a national phenom since his final collegiate season, so it’s no surprise his exploits had crossed the radar of LeBron, who has always been gracious about praising star athletes across different sports.

King James may be a four-time NBA champion and larger-than-life figure, but when it comes to watching football, or expressing his sympathy for players who suffer horrific injuries, he’s a well-meaning fan just like the rest of us. Hopefully this shout-out and all the outpouring of support will give Burrow all the extra motivation he needs to come back better and stronger than ever next year.
