JuJu Smith-Schuster wants to make sure the elderly can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will make someone’s holiday special.

Because of the global pandemic, many senior citizens may not be able to take part in their traditional Thanksgiving feasts with their families. Smith-Schuster understands the importance of making sure they are not forgotten during one of America’s most important holidays. He is donating 350 meals to the elderly who may not be able to experience Thanksgiving otherwise.

“I love the elderly, and I want to give back,” said Smith-Schuster. “I want them to have Thanksgiving. I am grateful to them and the city of Pittsburgh because they have always have my back. This city gives me love.” Still early into his NFL career, Smith-Schuster is well aware of how lucky he is to play wide receiver for an organization like the Steelers and in a place like Pittsburgh.

Smith-Schuster will not be there for the delivery due to playing on Thursday

Because the Steelers are playing the arch rival Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football this week, Smith-Schuster will not be in attendance to hand off these 350 home-cooked meals to the senior citizens of Greater Pittsburgh. Though he will have a game to get ready for, Smith-Schuster will be there in spirit. Hopefully, his great play on Thursday night in primetime will do just the trick.

“Thanksgiving has always meant family at the table for me,” said Smith-Schuster. “It’s about sitting down and talking about the memories of the past and the future.” Smith-Schuster is not alone in his appreciation for the Thanksgiving holiday. With the rare treat of being able to play on primetime in Thanksgiving, here is to him making the absolute most of it.

Because of Smith-Schuster, many senior citizens holidays will be all the more cheerful.
