Per a report, the San Francisco 49ers indeed have interest this offseason in potentially trying to land Aaron Rodgers via a trade.
While the Green Bay Packers have come out and said they want Aaron Rodgers back next season, the San Francisco 49ers may not be ready to give up on trying to make a move to land him and get him back to the Bay Area.
Per a report, San Francisco has interest in Rodgers taking over the offense for the inconsistent Jimmy Garoppolo. Of course San Francisco has interest. This is Rodgers we’re talking about after all. With that said, is San Francisco dreaming in thinking this could actually happen?

San Francisco having interest in trading for Aaron Rodgers is no surprise at all
When the Lions and Rams completed their trade featuring Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff, Los Angeles sent Detroit two first-round picks as well. LA clearly thinks it has what it takes to win the Super Bowl, which is why they had no issue sending the first-rounders in the deal.
If San Francisco wants any chance at landing Rodgers, it would have to send Green Bay several first-round picks. Keep in mind, Green Bay used its top pick on quarterback Jordan Love in 2020. The plan is for him to be the signal-caller of the future.
At the same time, Rodgers played at an MVP-type level this past season. He was nothing short of sensational in the regular season, throwing 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Following the NFC Championship Game loss to Tampa Bay, Rodgers’ comments sure made it seem like he’d be open to a move elsewhere.
However, Green Bay’s front office said there’s no way they’d want to trade the future Hall-of-Famer.
With that said, the 49ers may not be ready to take no for an answer and throw a boatload of picks at Green Bay to get Rodgers on their roster. While it seems like a long shot, you never know what might happen if a mind-blowing offer is presented.
