Isaiah Wilson says he is done playing for Titans in since-deleted tweet

Isaiah Wilson tweeted and deleted a message saying he was done playing football with the Tennessee Titans.

Last offseason, the Tennessee Titans selected Isaiah Wilson out of Georgia to be their right tackle of the future. His rookie year did not go as planned due to a variety of off-field issues, logging a grand total of four snaps in the NFL. Last week, Titans general manager Jon Robinson said that Wilson will have to decide whether he wants to play professional football.

It appears Robinson received his answer.

On Monday night, Wilson sent out a tweet saying that he is “done with football as a Titan” and that he would take “no further comments.” The tweet has since been deleted.

Wilson’s future in Tennessee up in the air

After a miraculous run to the AFC Championship Game last year, the Titans had a glaring need at right tackle after Jack Conklin left for the Cleveland Browns via free agency. They thought they had filled the void by selecting Wilson in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Since being drafted by the Titans, Wilson was involved in two off-field incidents. The rookie offensive lineman attended an off-campus party that Tennessee State University police broke up and was given a trespassing warning. Then in September, Wilson was arrested for DUI after crashing his vehicle into a wall.

Additionally, Wilson was suspended one game by the Titans for violating team rules. The organization later placed him on the non-football injury list following Week 13, ending his rookie season. And the team has not spoken to him since.

Wilson’s future will continue to be up in the air, as the Titans are giving him the time to determine whether he wants to play professional football. Whether the since-deleted tweet represents his true feelings about being a member of the Titans organization remains to be seen.
