Danica Patrick has finally revealed the details that led to her breakup with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and how it affected her.
While Aaron Rodgers continues living his best life, his ex has been left to witness the love-fest for the Green Bay Packers quarterback and it’s opening up some old wounds.
Danica Patrick and Rodgers dated for two years before they split last summer. Since then, Rodgers went on to win the NFL MVP and lead the Packers to the NFC Championship Game, he got engaged to actress Shailene Woodley and he just wrapped up a guest-hosting gig on Jeopardy!.
Not a bad run for Rodgers.
Meanwhile, Patrick has been left to see one headline after another for the happy couple and in an interview on Running Wild With Bear Grylls, the race car driver revealed just how broken up she was about the split.

“I think we learn the most about ourselves through relationships, but there’s nothing like heartbreak to really throw you in the deep end of that,” Patrick said, via US Weekly. “But I’ve learned a lot and as broken open as I was on the sad end, I have felt so much joy in so many more instances and so many more unlikely places than I ever have, so it’s like my heart got broken open to both ends of the spectrum.”
Breakups do tend to do just that. While it’s sad in the moment, Patrick has been through public breakups before due to her occupation and two failed marriages. So she’s been able to turn the sadness into a positive thing by learning what she really wants in a relationship.
“When you know what you don’t want, you know what you do want,” she said in a March interview with Tamron Hall. “It’s not as though there are boxes to check, it’s just that I know what I want now and I’m not willing to compromise [or] bend as much.”
Patrick says she’s single at the moment and enjoying life.
