Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers

Alejandro Villanueva appears to take shot at JuJu Smith-Schuster

In a video interview, former Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva looks to have taken a jab at his former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Steelers fans were heartbroken when news broke that veteran offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva had signed a two-year deal with the rival Baltimore Ravens. Just like that, Villanueva will suit up for a team the Steelers supporters hate.

Villanueva surely isn’t making those same folks happy with his latest comments. In a video interview, Villanueva discussed how excited he is to take on Pittsburgh next and appears to have tossed some shade at receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for his use of social media.

Alejando Villanueva didn’t hold back in going after JuJu Smith-Schuster

Villanueva had to know exactly what he was saying here. Smith-Schuster made countless headlines last year for his TikTok videos and Twitter activity. And now Villanueva is saying Ravens receivers don’t get to do that kind of stuff. Come on, man.

It’s one thing for Villanueva to leave town, but for him to waste zero time in going after his former teammate is a bit of a bad look. At the end of the day, though, all it does it make the showdowns coming in 2021 between the Steelers and Ravens even more interesting.

Smith-Schuster is yet to respond to Villanueva’s comments, but it’d be a surprise if he didn’t do so. Imagine if he sent a message by blasting Villanueva on TikTok. That’d really be something. Villanueva spent the first seven years of his career at Heinz Field, starting every game the last five campaigns at left tackle.

He’s all set to start the next chapter of his career with Baltimore and he clearly has no issues burning bridges with his former team in the process.
