Kerryon, my waivered son. There’ll be peace now that you are done with the Lions. You can lay your weary head to rest in the Eagles’ nest. Just promise me one thing. Don’t you cry no more. No more! It this is not the Leftoverture to a new age for this former Auburn star running back, what is? He goes from one bad NFC team to another that plays rock, paper, scissors … shoot. Damn!

Johnson had spent his entire NFL career with the Lions after being a second-round pick out of Auburn. The former SEC Offensive Player of the Year as not able to help the Lions’ ground game in the slightest. Frankly, the Lions are forever chasing Barry Sanders in the backfield. Johnson takes his career 283 carries for 1,225 yards and eight rushing touchdowns to the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia may not be able to do a lot of things well this year, but the Eagles should have a strong identity of running the football. They have a promising backfield already with Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard at the top of it. Philadelphia also added Fletcher Cox’s younger cousin Kenneth Gainwell as a fifth-round pick out of Memphis last week. The Eagles may not fly, but they will run.

When it comes to fight or flight for the Eagles next year, you know they’ll take the money and run.
