Broncos testing football karma by axing another player with season-ending injury

The Denver Broncos have waived wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton after he tore his ACL.

It is abundantly clear that the Denver Broncos have no interest in believing in football karma whatsoever this offseason.

Wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton was on the trading block this spring, but a torn ACL suffered in a private workout away from the Broncos facility led to his release. Denver players are not taking part in voluntary workouts at the team facility this offseason. Hamilton is the second Bronco player to be cut after suffering a season-ending injury. Denver does not believe in football karma.

Denver decided to give Hamilton the old Ja’Wuan James treatment by cutting him on Tuesday.

The Denver Broncos are really putting football karma to test this offseason

For an organization that has not drafted a quarterback worth a damn and developed him since John Elway, Denver does not need to put itself behind the eight ball when it comes to football karma. The Broncos have not been to the NFL Playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50. Only the AFC East laughingstock known as the New York Jets have had a longer playoff absence than Denver.

While the NFL is a cutthroat business to begin with, the brutal nature in which the Broncos are handling players getting hurt away from their facility for exercising the CBA right to do so cannot sit well for those who side with the players on this important issue. If the Broncos win, then their fans won’t care. But should they struggle once again under Vic Fangio, jobs will be lost in Denver.

If another Broncos player suffers a major injury away from the facility, we know what will happen.
