Kansas City Chiefs get an update on Patrick Mahomes’ rehab and time table to return

Patrick Mahomes looks to be progressing very well when it comes to his rehab.

When the Kansas City Chiefs commence organized team activities on May 25, Patrick Mahomes will be there ready to work in some capacity.

The NFL Network’s James Palmer reports that Mahomes is ahead of schedule when it comes to his rehabilitation from offseason surgery to correct some turf toe. Kansas City anticipates he will be able to take part in some of these organized team activities next week, but really believes he will be fully healthy by the time training camp arrives later on this summer. Great news for K.C.

For Kansas City to three-peat in the AFC and get to Super Bowl 56, Mahomes has to be healthy.

Patrick Mahomes is ahead of schedule in his rehab coming back from turf toe

Mahomes had surgery very early this offseason. He was spotted wearing a walking boot earlier this spring, but his surgical procedure was a minor one in the grand scheme of things. Most NFL players have surgery in the offseason to repair the wears and tears from the daily grind of a 16, now 17-game schedule. If Mahomes is healthy by the time training camp starts, then all is good.

Even with other great teams in the AFC like the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns on the come-up, the Chiefs are the favorites to win their conference for the third year in a row. While it remains to be seen if they match up favorably to whoever comes out of the NFC, the AFC will likely run through Kansas City as long as Mahomes has his health and has plenty of talent around him.

Look for Mahomes to put in some work for the Chiefs next week during organized team activities.
