Jordan Love will be ready to start with or without Aaron Rodgers in town (Video)

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love made it more than clear he’ll be ready to rock come Week 1 if his number is called to start.

With OTAs in full swing for the Green Bay Packers, second-year quarterback Jordan Love is looking to make a name for himself. While he’s been a bit inconsistent in his limited action, Love sure is riding high in the confidence department.

The former first round-pick knows that there’s a chance that he could lead the offense out onto the field come Week 1 if Aaron Rodgers decides to retire or sit out the season. Rodgers’ beef with the front office doesn’t look like it’s ending soon. With that said, Love said with conviction he’ll be ready to rock come early September.

Jordan Love is mentally ready to start Week 1 for the Packers if his number is called

“100 percent,” Love told reporters when asked if he’s ready to start the season-opener. “This is a time where I’m getting a lot of extremely valuable reps that I might not have gotten in normal circumstances. I was drafted here to play QB so I’ll definitely be ready Week 1.”

As much as fans might love Love’s swagger in delivering that response, everyone in Wisconsin is waiting on pins and needles in hopes of a Rodgers return. The reigning MVP was downright electric last year with his 48 touchdowns and he has what it takes to power this team to another Super Bowl trip.

However, Rodgers and general manager Brian Gutekunst’s relationship may not be fixable here. Should that be the case, it will be Love time in Green Bay. The former Utah State signal-caller will be prepping to be the starter regardless if Rodgers makes his way to training camp or not. Come Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, we very well may end up seeing Love running the show.
