Seahawks: 5 players who won’t be on the roster by Week 1

The reigning NFC West champions comes off a season that finished with more question than answers. Can the Seattle Seahawks regroup in 2021?

There was a Super Bowl title in 2013 (XLVII) and a return to the “Big Game” a year later. And there were some who actually uttered the word “dynasty” at this stage of a postseason run that the Seattle Seahawks would embark on from 2012-16. In fact, since the arrival of Russell Wilson, the franchise has been playoff-bound eight times in nine years.

But winning in the postseason has gotten harder the past three years. And the team has been shuffling its roster consistently in recent year. So who will stay and who will be around for the Week 1 clash with the Colts?

5. Robert Nkemdiche has run out of opportunities

Talk about a restoration project? He was the 29th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and never made his presence felt with the franchise. Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche played in a total of 27 games for the Arizona Cardinals and finally came up with a respectable year in 2018, when he made six starts and finished with 32 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

But he wound up with the Dolphins in ’19, played two games for that club but was gone by early November. And he hadn’t been heard from since until the Seahawks inked him to a one-year deal (via Spotrac) in the spring. Is there anything left in his tank?
