Chiefs’ Frank Clark arrested on felony charge, reportedly still in jail

The Kansas City Chiefs got some rough news on Monday morning, with edge rusher Frank Clark reportedly behind bars after being arrested.

Frank Clark finds himself in some legal trouble this afternoon.

The star defensive end for the Kansas City Chiefs was reportedly arrested on Sunday by the Los Angeles (CA) police department after what was described as a normal traffic stop yielded an Uzi in an open duffel bag.

Clark, 28, was charged with having an illegal firearm in his possession, which is classified as a felony in the state of California.

FanSided has reached out to the Chiefs for comment, but none has been provided at this time.

According to TMZ, Clark remains in jail as he awaits the next steps in his legal process.

The two-time Pro Bowler could face punishment from the NFL whether or not the felony charge ends up sticking. Commissioner Roger Goodell has made the precedent of suspending players who were accused before despite no guilty verdict in the court system.

After being taken in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, Clark spent four productive years in the Pacific Northwest before being traded to Kansas City.

In two solid seasons with the Chiefs, Clark has twice been named to the Pro Bowl with his current club. Additionally, the former Michigan star has turned his production up in the playoffs, notching five sacks in the 2019 run which propelled Kansas City its first Super Bowl title in 50 years. In the 2020 postseason, Clark totaled three more sacks, including two in the AFC Championship Game.
