Look: Trevor Lawrence returned to Clemson to work with new Jaguars teammates

Trevor Lawrence made a return to the Clemson campus, and he brought along his new Jacksonville Jaguars teammates for some workouts.

Throughout the NFL and collegiate seasons, the focus was on Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the then-presumptive favorite to be the first-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars won the sweepstakes by losing the most games throughout the season and got their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.

With training camp just weeks away, Lawrence decided to have some workouts with his new Jaguars teammates, and they took place at the Clemson campus. Clemson wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham tweeted out a video of a portion of the on-field workouts.

Trevor Lawrence is already showing great leadership with the Jaguars

Three wide receivers who did attend Lawrence’s workout at Clemson included D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault and Marvin Jones Sr., who revealed it on their Instagram accounts, via John Shipley of Jaguar Report.

Lawrence spent three years at Clemson, where he won the CFP National Championship as a freshman and showcased why he is one of the best quarterback prospects to come out of college since the likes of Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning. Lawrence threw for 10,098 yards, 90 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while completing 66.6-percent of his passes through his three years playing for the Tiers.

Now, Lawrence is making the transition to the NFL to help lead the Jaguars to the top of the proverbial mountaintop. Jacksonville had a taste of success recently, where they reached the AFC Championship Game in 2017 but fell to a late comeback by the New England Patriots. The Jaguars finished in last place in the AFC South in each of the next three seasons following that game.

With training camp approaching, Lawrence took the remaining days of the break to build chemistry with his wideouts for the 2021 season.
