Packers: Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams hint at ‘Last Dance’ in Green Bay

Green Bay Packers fans were given quite the scare seeing the Instagram stories of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.

The Green Bay Packers fan base is not having the greatest time heading into training camp. First of all, they are unsure when or if quarterback Aaron Rodgers will report to the team, due to his beef with the organization. Then on Friday, reports indicated that wide receiver Davante Adams and the Packers broke off long-term contract extension negotiations, noting that they are “in a bad place.”

In the hours after that report, Rodgers and Adams broke the internet with their identical Instagram story posts. The quarterback and wide receiver posted the exact same photo of Chicago Bulls legends Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, potentially hinting at a “last dance.”

Packers: Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams hinting at a ‘Last Dance’

Certainly not the thing Packers fans needed to see on their social media feeds on Saturday morning. As for “The Last Dance” comparisons, it is oddly fitting.

On the night of the 2021 NFL Draft, reports indicated that Rodgers had no desire to play for the Packers any longer and wanted out. Rodgers revealed on a “SportsCenter” appearance that he did not agree with the Packers’ front office’s “philosophy.” Going back to “The Last Dance,” Rodgers reportedly referred to general manager Brian Gutekunst as Jerry Krause in texts with his teammates. Of course, Krause was the general manger of the Bulls dynasty of the 1990’s who infamously did not get along with Jordan.

As for Adams, 2021 could very well be his final year suiting up for the Packers. At the end of this season, the wideout’s four-year, $58 million contract expires, making him an unrestricted free agent. It goes without saying that Adams will be a hot commodity at the start of the 2022 league year, which could make it difficult for the Packers to re-sign him.

This Bulls post may very well be nothing, but Packers fans are no doubt having panic attacks reading updates on Rodgers and Adams on the daily. We can bet fans of the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions are doing the opposite (i.e. partying).
