Watch: Patrick Mahomes looks in MVP form at start of Chiefs training camp

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is looking to return to MVP form following offseason surgery.

Among the teams to beat in the upcoming NFL season are the Kansas City Chiefs, due in part to the man under center, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The three-time Pro Bowler is coming off back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, and appears to be more motivated than ever in hopes of raising the Lombardi trophy for the second time in three years.

The good news for Kansas City Mahomes reporting to training camp on time after receiving surgery for turf toe in the offseason. He was all smiles and business in a video shared by the Kansas City Twitter account for the start of camp workouts for rookies and quarterbacks on Saturday

Mahomes has been classified as “ahead of schedule” and was a participant in four weeks of the team’s offseason workouts. ESPN’s Adam Teicher reports there will be no limitations for Mahomes as camp begins, and the former MVP said himself he’s doing the things he normally does in preparation for the season.

Patrick Mahomes is more motivated than ever this season

In 15 games last season, Mahomes threw for 4,740 yards along with 38 touchdowns en route to leading the Chiefs to their second straight Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Kansas City, they’d run into Tom Brady and a red-hot Buccaneers who handedly went on to defeat the Chiefs 31-9.

The loss is one Mahomes says gave him similar feelings to the Cheifs’ defeat to the Patriots in the 2019 AFC Championship game, also against Brady. The latest Super Bowl is driving Mahomes to, “go harder in the offseason”.

At just 25-years-old and more hungry than ever, it’s possible we’ve yet to see the best of Mahomes.
