Aaron Rodgers and … Randall Cobb are a package deal in joining the Green Bay Packers.
For Aaron Rodgers to return to the Green Bay Packers this year, apparently, that is contingent on the team trading for his former wide receiver Randall Cobb.
Trey Wingo tweeted out on Monday afternoon that if the Packers trade for the Houston Texans wide receiver, it would go a long way towards Rodgers returning to Green Bay for a 17th season. Cobb spent his first eight NFL seasons out of Kentucky in Green Bay uniform. He had 470 catches for 5,524 yards and 41 touchdowns during that span, earning a Pro Bowl nod in the 2014 season.
With Rodgers returning, the Packers should be one of the best teams in the NFC once again.

With this expected to be Rodgers’ last season with the Packers, both parties understand that the divorce is inevitable coming. After trading up to draft a project quarterback in Jordan Love out of Utah State in 2019, Rodgers went out and won a spite MVP. We can only hope a spite Super Bowl run is in the Rodgers’ future with the Packers. It has been a while since Green Bay has been to one.
So what would adding Cobb to the Packers offense mean? Probably a slightly happier Rodgers, and that is basically it. He is on the wrong side of 30 and has not had a 1,000-yard season since 2014. The other thing to keep in mind is how loaded the Packers receiving room is with Davante Adams at the forefront of it. The madness is only just getting started in Titletown right now.
If trading for Cobb makes Rodgers happy for one last season together, just make it work, please.
