A pair of teams riding seven-game losing streak clash in South Florida as the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins meet in the Sunshine State.

One of the most common sports clichés is the classic “it’s a meeting of two teams headed in opposite directions.”

But what about a pair of clubs that appear to be on the same path?

The Miami Dolphins went into Foxborough and knocked off the New England Patriots, 17-16, in Week 1. But Brian Flores’ team hasn’t won since. The Houston Texans hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars on the opening Sunday and knocked off their division rival, 37-21. Like the ‘Fins, David Culley’s squad hasn’t prevailed in a contest since.

Now these teams meet this Sunday in South Florida. Some teams figures to get their second victory of the season…

Maybe.

5. Defense has season-high sack total

David Culley’s NFL head coaching career began this season and with well-traveled quarterback Tyrod Taylor at the helm. He and the team made easy work of the Jaguars in Week 1. A week later at Cleveland, the Texans owned a lead over the Browns before succumbing, 31-21. But Taylor suffered a hamstring injury in the loss and hasn’t played since.

Enter rookie Davis Mills, who has taken a licking behind a highly-suspect offensive line. It’s a unit that may enable Miami’s pass rush to look good on Sunday. The Dolphins have only 12 sacks in eight games, with a season-high three QB traps in the Week 3 overtime loss at Las Vegas. Mills has already been sacked 20 times this year.
