Dak Prescott ‘not a fan’ of Patrick Mahomes no-look passes

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made a sly comment about Patrick Mahomes’ no-look passes, saying he’s “not a fan” of the technique himself.

It’s only Friday, but Dak Prescott is already slinging shade at Patrick Mahomes before their Week 11 meeting.

Asked if he’s tried the no-look pass popularized by the Chiefs quarterback, Prescott had a sly response to whether or not that style works for his offense.

“I think every quarterback tries to incorporate that,” Prescott told Dallas Cowboys media. “Have I tried it? Maybe a time or two. I think a lot of times I catch my receivers off guard with it so I’m not that big a fan of it.’’

Dak Prescott ‘not a big fan’ of the no-look pass

While Prescott may not be a fan of it personally, it’s the phrase that precedes it that is especially biting: he doesn’t like to “catch receivers off guard with it.”

While NFL quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers have utilized the technique before Mahomes entered the technique, the phenomenal playmaker popularized it on primetime as he made physics-defying passes.

An impressive demonstration of his playmaking on the run, Mahomes has effortlessly flung footballs to receivers for big gains during games.

Of course, the no-looker is high risk/high reward, as Mahomes and apparently Prescott know all too well.

Earlier this season, Mahomes paid for a no-look pass with an interception, although it was Marcus Kemp who tipped the ball to a waiting Asante Samuel Jr.

In an offense that’s been catching NFL defenses off-guard since 2018, Mahomes’ explosiveness returned in Week 10 in a 406-yard, five-touchdown performance that earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Sprinkling in a few no-look passes may give the Chiefs an advantage, but it’s something Prescott and his receivers will pass on.

It’s not often that quarterbacks get heated with a little trash talk, but Prescott is about to see Mahomes in Week 11, and he’s not going to start the week off by handing out compliments to his opponent.
