The Bills took a 17-7 lead into halftime in their Week 16 road meeting over in Foxborough. Given that Buffalo is a game back of New England in the AFC East standings, as well as having lost the first game of the annual series at home in Orchard Park, this game is beyond critical for Buffalo to win. If the Bills cannot hold off the Patriots, they will have next to no shot of winning the division.

While this year has not gone according to plan for Buffalo, the Bills still have all their hopes and dreams still ahead of them. Though getting the top seed in the AFC is not happening, Buffalo can still win the division, win multiple playoff games and be within striking distance of getting back to AFC Championship game. From there, anything can happen in a league championship setting.

Overall, Buffalo is not as good of a team as it was a year ago. However, Sean McDermott’s squad has ample postseason experience and a massive chip on its shoulder. Though the Bills may not be capable of beating someone like the Kansas City Chiefs in late January, they are showing the do belong in the playoff picture once again. Sleep on this playoff-contending team at your own risk.

Let’s just say Diggs isn’t sending any Christmas cards to Patriots fans anytime soon.
