Antonio Brown leaves game: Ryan Clark comments on the bizarre incident

Clark was teammates with Brown ever since the wide receiver was selected in the sixth-round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Steelers out of Central Michigan up until the defensive back’s departure after the 2013 season.

Brown has had his fair share of ugly exits from NFL teams. He forced his way off of the Pittsburgh Steelers after the 2018 season and ended up getting traded to the then-Oakland Raiders. Brown was released by the Raiders just before the start of the 2019 campaign after a drama-filled preseason. He lasted one game with the New England Patriots as the league investigated sexual assault allegations against him. Then, he signed on with the Buccaneers in 2020, won a Super Bowl, then released after Sunday’s debacle, weeks after he was suspended for three-games for submitting a fake COVID-19 vaccine card.

In regards to the incident, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted on Monday that the head coach Bruce Arians and the coaching staff asked Brown to get in the game. After failed attempts, he was sent off the sidelines. Yet, Rapoport says that those close to Brown claimed that the wide receiver felt he was not healthy enough to play.

As more reports are bound to fly in, it will remain to be seen if this will truly be the end of Brown’s time in the NFL.
