When Joe Burrow went down his with knee injury late in the heart-stopping win over the Kansas City Chiefs, folks all over Cincinnati panicked. Fortunately for the star Bengals quarterback, his injury isn’t serious and he won’t be missing extensive action.

With that said, Burrow won’t be out on the field in Week 18 with the rest of his team. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Burrow came out and said that he’ll be resting up on Sunday and he doesn’t expect to play vs. the Browns.

Joe Burrow’s knee injury will sideline him for Week 18

This decision makes quite a bit of sense for the Bengals here. While they’d love to try and grab the No. 1 seed in the AFC, Cincinnati would need the Titans and Chiefs to lose this upcoming weekend, plus some more help. The last thing the team wants is to force Burrow out there too early and risk further injury.

Now, he’ll rest on Sunday and make sure he’s as close to 100 percent as possible for the AFC Wild Card Round. It’s up in the air who the Bengals will be facing next weekend, but Burrow will be jacked up to try and help his squad move on in the postseason.

The confidence for this team is riding high following that recent win over the Chiefs. Burrow was spectacular in the victory, throwing for four touchdowns. Three of those scores went to Ja’Marr Chase, who was downright sensational lighting up the Chiefs secondary.

With Burrow not expected to start on Sunday for Cincinnati and Baker Mayfield out as well, that means it will be Brandon Allen vs. Case Keenum going up against one another.
