Twitter celebrates Matthew Stafford’s first playoff win

While everyone on Twitter seems to be mocking the Arizona Cardinals, folks are more than happy to celebrate Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

It has finally happened. Matthew Stafford finally has a playoff win on his resume. It’s taken quite some time, but Stafford finally broke through and got a win as the Los Angeles Rams humbled Kliff Kingsbury and the Arizona Cardinals.

Stafford, who has been in the NFL since he was drafted by the Detroit Lions with the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, is on a team that is moving on past the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

This is fairly unfamiliar territory for the 33-year-old quarterback as he has only been in the playoffs on a few other occasions. Unfortunately for Stafford and the Lions, all of those other instances ended up in losses.

But because his team had previously never made it past the Wild Card round and everyone loves rooting for an underdog story, folks on Twitter are more than excited to celebrate Stafford’s victory over the Cardinals.

Twitter seems thrilled with Matthew Stafford finally winning an NFL Playoff game

This win is huge for Stafford. He’s had a lengthy career and has been playing for moments like this for a long time. Now it’s finally happened. Stafford has finally won a playoff game.

And even though he wasn’t able to win any playoff games with the Lions, that doesn’t mean Detroit fans aren’t celebrating Stafford’s newfound success with the Rams.

Stafford will need to start focusing on what’s ahead though. The Rams will get to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. The goal for this team is to be able to win a Super Bowl. To do that, the Rams will need to win a few more times.
