Another Aaron Rodgers coach is headed to Denver

The slow, trivial exit of Packers assistants to Denver almost makes it feel inevitable that Aaron Rodgers will do the same in the coming weeks.

First it was Nathaniel Hackett, signing on to become the next head coach of the Broncos. Now, former Packers tight ends coach Justin Outten is headed to Denver as well as the team’s next offensive coordinator.

Outten and Hackett have an obvious link with the Packers, and both were members of an offensive staff that merely extended Aaron Rodgers’ greatness. At 38 years old, some familiarity could do Rodgers some good, hence his link with the Broncos.

However, the Broncos have been a potential trade destination for Rodgers since last offseason. The link makes a lot of sense, as the Broncos are essentially a quarterback away from playoff contention.

Broncos: Could Aaron Rodgers follow offensive staff to Denver?

Rodgers would have a steady receiving corps in Denver, with Jerry Jeudy and Co. already in place. Add in that Davante Adams is a free agent — and that Rodgers and Adams have discussed playing together regardless of their future contract status — and the Broncos adding Rodgers could make them among a long list of Super Bowl favorites in the AFC.

Unfortunately, as previously stated, that list is quite long. Even in the Broncos’ own division, the Chiefs and Chargers loom large as intense competition for years to come. The Raiders and Derek Carr aren’t half bad, either, as they came just a game away from making the playoffs this past season.

Why leave Green Bay when the competition in the AFC West is so fierce?

Familiarity and cohesiveness can go a long way in today’s NFL, and perhaps Rodgers has an offensive staff he can finally trust. With that in mind, keep an eye on the Broncos as favorites to land Rodgers should he demand out.
