Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, Super Bowl

Joe Burrow gets high praise on ‘cool factor’ from Odell Beckham Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow received huge praise from Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ahead of Super Bowl 56.

You know that the Super Bowl is getting that much closer when the two teams playing for the Lombardi Trophy participate in Opening Night. Players from the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals are interviewed by the media, discussing a variety of topics.

Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had some interesting things to say on Opening Night, but when he was asked about Bengals quarterback and fellow LSU alum Joe Burrow, he called him the definition of cool and said that he’s “going to be one of the greats.”

Beckham knows firsthand of Burrow’s potential. He was in the Superdome in New Orleans to watch Burrow lead the LSU Tigers to a 42-25 win over Clemson to win the CFP National Championship. That was the historic year when Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and just six interceptions on a 76.3 completion percentage. He won the Heisman Trophy for his efforts.

Burrow’s first season with the Bengals ended early after he tore his ACL. In his second year, Burrow showed that he can be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL for the foreseeable future, especially in the playoffs. He played a major factor in the team defeating the Las Vegas Raiders in the Wild Card Round, beating the top-seeded Tennessee Titans despite being sacked nine times in the game, and overcame a 21-3 deficit to win the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.

In Cincinnati’s three playoff games, Burrow completed 68.8-percent of his passes for 842 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Now, Burrow is on the verge of becoming the first quarterback in history to win the Heisman Trophy, a National Championship and the Super Bowl. To do so, he will not only have to contend with Los Angeles’ pass rush that pummeled Tom Brady in the Divisional Round, but go toe-to-toe with their loaded offense that features Beckham, fellow wide receiver Cooper Kupp, quarterback Matthew Stafford, and running back Cam Akers.

Just before the two fight over the Lombardi Trophy, Beckham gave Burrow some high praise.
