Philadelphia Eagles fans react to team trading for Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown.

During the Philadelphia Eagles‘ draft party at Lincoln Financial Field, fans of The Birds reacted accordingly when their beloved team traded for former Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Brown was entering his final year of his rookie contract with the Titans. Now, he is getting a four-year extension worth $100 million, $57 million guaranteed. He will play alongside 2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith in the Eagles’ receiving corps and will help bring along third-year pro in starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles have long wanted a wide receiver and got one.

Clearly, the Eagles want to put Hurts in the best position to succeed over the next two seasons.

This is one of those moves that could change the paradigm in the NFC East. Philadelphia massively overachieved a year ago under first-time head coach Nick Sirianni. The Eagles emerged as the No. 7 seed in the NFC. While they got smoked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round, Philadelphia established a strong identity by dominating in the ground game.

However, for The Birds to really take flight, they need more bite in the receiving corps. Smith had a strong rookie season out of Alabama, but the slight wideout may not be ready to be the team’s bona-fide No. 1. As for Brown, he had pretty much been that during his three-year run in Nashville with the Titans. No matter how it ends, the Eagles fan base is very excited about the acquisition.

If all goes according to plan, the Eagles can win the NFC East and potentially a few playoff games.
