With the 2022 NFL Draft behind them, here are three bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers’ offseason.

The Green Bay Packers have had quite the eventful offseason to say the least. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back for the foreseeable future, while wide receiver Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. And this all happened before the 2022 NFL Draft, which took place from Apr. 28-30.

With the NFL’s annual event behind us, that means the teams will now get ready for the season through minicamp and training camp. That means there are going to be plethora of moves on the horizon for all 32 NFL teams. But what about the Packers?

Here are three bold offseason predictions for the Packers after the NFL Draft.

3. Selection of Devonte Wyatt could spell end of Dean Lowry’s Packers tenure

With the top wide receivers unavailable when they were on the clock with pick No. 22, Green Bay selected Georgia linebacker Quay Walker. Six picks later, the Packers doubled up on Bulldogs defenders, drafting defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt.

Now that Wyatt is slotted in on the defensive line and will no doubt be in contention for some starter’s snaps, that could mean a veteran could be cut with the purpose of freeing up cap space. Dean Lowry could be a candidate.

Lowry counts for $8.1 million against the cap for Green Bay. If the team were to release him on post-June 1, they would free up $5.95 million in space, per Spotrac.

At the end of the upcoming season, Lowry becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The packers aimed to improve their defense entering the 2022 season, which is why they decided to add Walker and Wyatt from Georgia’s vaunted, National Championship-winning defense.
