Justin Fields and Velus Jones already developing chemistry in Bears locker room

The Chicago Bears are hoping new wide receiver Velus Jones and quarterback Justin Fields form a successful partnership. So far, so good.

The Bears went into the 2022 NFL Draft looking to get Justin Fields some help for his receiving corps. In the third round, they got their guy in Velus Jones Jr.

Jones’s excitement over being drafted by Chicago was palpable on his social media channels.

He even shared a video of his new locker in the Bears facilities, and the fact that it’s next to Fields’ should have fans excited.

“We locked in bruddah,” Jones wrote on his Instagram story.

Since Allen Robinson left in free agency to join the Rams, Jones gets to wear his No. 12 jersey to start his career.

Fields is getting his top receiver from last year, Darnell Mooney, back after the two connected for 1,055 yards. The hope is for Jones to upgrade the attack with his exceptional speed.

Truthfully, the receiving corps looks thing for 2022, even though Chicago also added Byron Pringle in free agency. The team needs Jones to hit the ground running. The more chemistry he can build with Fields before the season begins the better.

If the two can form a quick partnership, hopes for the future in Chicago will skyrocket.

Jones started his college career at USC. He transferred to Tennessee ahead of the 2020 season. He made his biggest impact in 2021, catching 62 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns.
