Look: 76ers jumbotron is already having Eagles move on from DeVonta Smith

The Philadelphia 76ers jumbotron listed DeVonta Smith as a former Eagles wide receiver during Game 4 on May 8.

The Philadelphia 76ers were feeling great after Game 3, as they got star Joel Embiid back into the lineup and got their first win of their Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series against the Miami Heat. They had the chance to tie the series up at two games apiece with a Game 4 win on Sunday, May 8.

During the game, the jumbotron of Wells Fargo Center showed Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith sitting courtside. The thing is, the screen listed Smith as a former Eagle.

Did…did we miss a trade that sent Smith out of Philadelphia? If you were confused, so was Smith, as he tweeted out his reaction to the now-viral picture of the jumbotron.

Smith is one year into his NFL career, as the Eagles traded up to the 10th-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to select Smith, the Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver. In his rookie season, Smith caught 64-of-104 targets for 916 yards and five touchdowns through 17 games.

The Eagles added to their wide receiver room this offseason, as they acquired A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for the 18th- and 101st-overall picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Additionally, Philadelphia and Brown agreed to terms on a four-year, $100 million contract extension. Brown and Smith at the top of the depth chart should further help the team’s passing attack, as they look to go on a deeper playoff run than they did the year prior.

As for the 76ers, they tied the series up with a 116-108 win on Sunday. James Harden led the way with 31 points scored (8-for-18 from field), 16 of which were scored in the fourth quarter alone.
