OBJ joins Ja Morant in weeks-long NBA offseason celebration

NFL free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. joined up with Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant to partake in Ja’s summer offseason party.

Ja Morant’s Instagram timeline portrays a polished NBA lifestyle: there’s photos with the family, a few stylish photos with friends during a night out, and plenty of posts proving Ja is putting the work in for a supermax extension this year.

But Ja’s Instagram stories tell another story, one that the NBA star has made clear this June: Ja knows how to party just as hard as he plays.

In one of the best crossovers yet of the NBA/NFL offseasons, Odell Beckham Jr. and Ja Morant linked up for a fun, fashionable photo shoot.

A shirtless Ja is decked out in diamonds from head to toe, while OBJ tied together a casual red, black and white ensemble with a LoveSicK trucker hat. Beckham Jr. even shared the beloved touchdown celebration from his home state, The Griddy, as Morant got to join in the NFL trend.

“Red n white Ferrari I come thru fresh as a peppermint…” Beckham Jr. wrote on Instagram as he shared photos of the two sports stars joking around.

OBJ and Ja Morant turn up the heat in NBA/NFL crossover celebration

Last week, Morant made headlines by live-streaming his house party on social media, which prompted many to joke that Morant was asking for fines and that this would never happen in David Stern’s NBA.

Ja had two words for anyone who had a problem with his partying: “I’m me.”

Before he lands his expected new contract with the Grizzlies, Ja has found a way to maximize his offseason by combining work and play: by hanging out on a mega yacht courtesy of Hulu.

He later expanded on how fan expectations are unrealistic when it comes to professional athletes. Their offseason is valuable not only for training and staying in shape, but it afford athletes precious leisure time to enjoy with their family and friends.

Ja Morant and Odell Beckham Jr. are showing the world that they’re living their best life while living out their dreams — and it doesn’t take away from what either athlete has accomplished in the past season.

Beckham Jr. finally got a Super Bowl ring after a decade in the NFL, while Morant became eligible for a five-year, $217 million supermax contract that he’s expected to sign this summer.
