Packers: Suggested trade package would help replace Davante Adams in odd way

The Green Bay Packers could help replace Davante Adams with another weapon from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense will need as many weapons as possible to help replace Davante Adams’ production. This suggested trade from Bleacher Report piqued our interest.

To replace Adams’ this article suggests that the Packers trade a 2023 third-round draft pick for Foster Moreau, one of the Raiders’ tight ends.

Despite having multiple weapons on the offense, there can never be enough. Moreau would provide an answer to the questionable tight end position at Green Bay right now.

The tight ends at Green Bay are working through injuries, so the Packers need some help until someone emerges as the primary starter.

Would adding a tight end for a third-round draft pick be a good trade for Green Bay?

Robert Tonyan tore his ACL last year, so he has to prove he is healthy and can handle the weight that comes with being the starter.

Josiah Deguara averaged 9.8 yards on 25 catches last season, and then there is Marcedes Lewis, who gets used as a blocker most of the time. So while there are bodies in the room, adding someone like Moreau could add some much-needed production.

Moreau would be an ideal player to grab because he is currently behind Darren Waller in Las Vegas, plus he will be a free agent after this upcoming season. Last season, Moreau recorded 30 catches for 373 yards. He is a physical tight end that blocks well but also is productive enough to keep playing for Green Bay once Tonyan returns.

While this trade makes some sense because it does answer some of the question marks surrounding the Green Bay offense, at the same time, why not add another weapon who is proven and can help Rodgers?

Another receiver or a different tight end could be a better decision, but this could be a trade that, if it fails, wouldn’t hurt the Packers too much in the long run. Green Bay needs to find enough weapons to make their offense elite in 2022, so watching how they make that happen for Rodgers will be interesting.

If Green Bay wants to compete for a Super Bowl, this proposed trade could help make that happen, or it could be a mistake. It is an odd trade, but it wouldn’t be terrible to see how it plays out, as it’s clear Green Bay is trying to find the best offense for its elite quarterback.
