Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is suspended from the NFL for 11 games for sexual misconduct allegations and wants to “share his side of the story.”
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been suspended 11 games by the NFL. Watson was accused of sexual misconduct by two-dozen women and faced civil suits from each, with one still ongoing.
On Thursday, following the league’s punishment becoming public, Watson spoke to assembled media and stated at some point, he wants to tell his side of the story.
Watson stated he intends to “keep being the person I am and keep showing the community how good of a person I am.”
He received the largest player fine in NFL history after the settlement; $5 million.

After the hefty fine, Watson claims to take accountability for his actions and the Browns ownership stated they will be educating the youth on awareness, understanding and prevention of sexual misconduct. This despite continuing to maintain his innocence, saying he did nothing wrong.
According to a tweet from Charles Robinson of Yahoo, Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam stated, “Now that a decision on discipline has been reached, we understand this is a real opportunity to create meaningful change and we are committed to investing in programs in Northeast Ohio that will educate our youth regarding awareness, understanding, and most importantly, prevention of sexual misconduct and the many underlying causes of such behavior.”
The tweet further quotes Watson, who stated, “I take accountability for the decisions I made. My focus going forward is on working to become the best version of myself on and off the field and supporting my teammates however possible while I’m away from the team.”
